Shortly before Norwell Engineering’s acquisition by Elemental Energies in May, Jon Starr celebrated 20 years of service with the Norwell team.
Now a senior engineer at Elemental Energies, Jon was last week presented with a long-service award on the day that also marked our full UK team coming together for the first time at our new UK HQ.
Jon started his career with Norwell in 2003 and worked through graduate training and on to Drilling Engineer and Drilling Supervisory positions in locations around the world. This included stints in Angola, India and the US, where he worked on major well project management campaigns in both onshore, offshore and deepwater.
In 2014 Jon joined the senior engineering team, leading the design of major wells projects in both the UK, India and Africa and also expanded his responsibilities supporting the well examination business.
Jon has since taken the lead in well examination, acting as Well Examiner for UKCS activity for Repsol-Sinopec and Equinor and for Wintershall in the EU. He has been a stalwart of the Norwell team and is a key part of Elemental Energies. His exposure to operations around the world, in a wide range of environments and roles, brings a unique perspective to clients.
Iain Adams was Managing Director of Norwell Engineering prior to the acquisition of Norwell by Elemental Energies. After presenting Jon with his long service award, he said: “Jon exemplifies our company values, showing a long-term commitment to professional development and upholding engineering independence.
“In the two decades Jon has been with us we have seen the industry transform, and he has been integral in supporting Norwell’s own transformation over the past 20 years. Jon has a strong operational background and is a key part of our well examination team, and enthusiastically keeps up to date with the latest in emerging technology and operational activity.”
Jon is one of several of the former Norwell team who have built up outstanding records of long service to the team, which brings a wealth of experience to Elemental Energies’ world-leading consultancy.
The day of Jon’s presentation also saw all of Elemental Energies’ UK team move into our new UK office. The team can now be found at 29 Abercrombie Court, Westhill.
